Exciting advancements are unfolding in the realm of Worldcoin within the cryptocurrency industry. The project is facing opposition from various nations due to its utilization of iris scanning techniques. Consequently, Worldcoin is in need of establishing a central hub to conduct its operations on a regional scale. Today, Worldcoin made a significant announcement regarding the selection of a location for this center.
Worldcoin Chooses Argentina
Today, Worldcoin revealed its decision to designate Argentina as the regional operations center for Latin America. The primary objective behind this move is to enhance Worldcoin’s presence in Argentina and the broader Latin American region. As part of this initiative, Worldcoin plans to swiftly establish offices in more than 50 different locations spanning over 10 cities in Argentina.
It is common knowledge that the Worldcoin team has been diligently working towards this endeavor. Earlier this year, project executives engaged in discussions with President Javier Milei in Buenos Aires. The purpose of this meeting was to seek governmental support to align with Worldcoin’s growth strategies. Notably, Worldcoin has reportedly garnered support from Argentine leaders, evident from the iris scanning of over 500,000 individuals in Argentina.
Argentina May Become a Central Hub
Argentina emerges as a pivotal hub for Worldcoin in Latin America. In addition to the operational center, Worldcoin also plans to establish two educational facilities in Argentina to educate the populace about technology and the project itself. Martin Mazza, a key executive at Worldcoin, highlighted the rationale behind choosing Argentina, citing the country’s advanced technological landscape and skilled workforce as key factors.
Mazza further emphasized that Buenos Aires would serve as a regional hub for Worldcoin’s undertakings. The primary objective is to foster collaboration with Argentine society and drive advancements in artificial intelligence and financial inclusion within the country.
While the focus remains on Latin America, interest in the project is steadily growing across various countries. Worldcoin is gaining momentum in nations like Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico. Notably, Worldcoin expressed intentions to expand its operations in Mexico back in April, with activities commencing in July 2023.
